According to Carrie Bradshaw, Girls move to New York City for the two L's: Labels and Love. I cannot say that was my motive for coming to the
Big Apple however; I do believe there is some truth behind that statement. The new Sex and the City movie has finally hit the big screen and saying that I was
excited about seeing it is an understatement. This film truly makes you feel as if you are falling in love again for the first time with the charismatic characters. Throw in
fashion montages and the romantic backdrop of Manhattan and it just does not get any better than this. I heard so many rumors about what to expect from the movie
like dream sequences and that one of the main characters died, well thank the "goddess" that was not at all accurate. Just from a fashion standpoint, the delicious
labels of Dior, Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik and Vivienne Westwood are in your face and I personally could not get enough of it. I mean for any fashionista trained or
still in training your mouth will be watering and I swear the moment you leave you will feel like your collection of labels are subpar.
Now for the Love: Take this
as a warning you will cry and cry some more. Tear jerking scenes are all over this movie, but not in a cheesy throw up in your mouth sort of way, but it serves as
reminder that love does indeed conquer all. And this L word shows its face in a variety of ways. At points it is explosive and then at others it is strangely civil.
Everything that you have hoped and wanted for your girls happened. It was widely unpredictable and at times you feel as though you are on this emotional roller
coaster with your friends. At the end of the ride though you come out feeling completely satisfied and totally aware that the decisions you make and do not make will
affect everyone around you including the most unlikely of subjects.
I do not want to give away any particular details of this wonderful film or ruin it for the 5 or
so people living under a rock who have not seen it, but I can guarantee that it's something you will want to watch a few times and many more times once it becomes
available to own. So gather your girls or your gay boyfriend and check out what the ladies of Sex and City have been up to for the past 3 years and where they are
going. I must say, I do smell a sequel. Enjoy!
